How to save, publish and undo changes in Elementor Print

  • elementor, publish, revisions, history, undo

Nothing you change in Elementor goes live until you publish it, and if you make a mistake you can always go back.

Publishing your changes

  • Click Publish (or Update on a page that's already live) at the top right. Your changes go live straight away.
  • To save without going live, click the arrow next to the Publish button and choose Save Draft.
  • To check your work first, click the eye icon (Preview Changes) to see the page in a new tab.
  • Shortcut: Ctrl + S (Windows) or Cmd + S (Mac) saves your work.

Undo and redo

  • Ctrl + Z / Cmd + Z undoes your last change.
  • Ctrl + Shift + Z / Cmd + Shift + Z redoes it.
  • Open History (from the Elementor menu at the top left, or Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + H) to see every action in this editing session and jump back to any point.

Going back to an older version (Revisions)

  1. Open History and switch to the Revisions tab.
  2. Click a revision to preview it. Each one shows the date and who saved it.
  3. Click Apply to restore it, then Update to make it live.

Good habits

  • Make one set of changes at a time and publish, rather than editing for hours without saving.
  • Check the page on your phone after publishing (see How to make your site look right on mobile and tablet).
  • If your site has a cache plugin, you may need to clear its cache before visitors see the changes.
  • Planning big changes? Ask us first and we can set up a staging copy of your site to practise on.
