This guide covers changing button wording and where buttons and links point to.

Change a button

  1. Open the page in Elementor and click the button.
  2. In the Content tab, change the wording in the Text box.
  3. Change where it goes in the Link box. You can paste a full web address, or start typing the name of one of your own pages to search for it.
  4. Click the cog next to the link box for extra options, such as Open in new window (best for links to other websites) and Add nofollow.
  5. Click Publish (or Update).

Add a link to text

  1. Click the Text Editor widget and highlight the words you want to link.
  2. Click the link icon in the toolbar, then paste a web address or search for one of your pages.
  3. Press Enter to apply it.

Useful link types

  • Phone: tel:01384387025 lets mobile visitors tap to call (no spaces).
  • Email: mailto:you@yourdomain.co.uk opens the visitor's email app.
  • Jump to a section on the page: give the section a CSS ID under Advanced, for example contact, then link to #contact.

Menu links

The links in your main menu aren't edited in Elementor. In WordPress, go to Appearance → Menus (or Appearance → Editor → Navigation on some sites) to add, remove or reorder them.

Check your links

After publishing, visit the page and click each link you've changed to make sure it goes to the right place.
