This guide covers the Form widget in Elementor Pro. If your site uses a different form plugin (such as Contact Form 7, WPForms or Gravity Forms), the steps will be different. Ask us if you're not sure.
Edit form fields
- Open the page in Elementor and click the form.
- Under Form Fields, click a field to change its label, placeholder text or type, or tick Required.
- Click + Add Item to add a new field, or drag fields to reorder them.
- Change the wording on the submit button under Buttons.
Change who receives form emails
- With the form selected, open Actions After Submit and make sure Email is listed.
- Open the Email section and change the To address. Separate several addresses with commas.
- Leave From Email as an address on your own domain (for example
noreply@yourdomain.co.uk). Using a Gmail or Hotmail address here can send your form emails to spam. - Click Update, then send a test message through the form on your live site.
Change the thank-you message
Open Additional Options and turn on Custom Messages to change the success and error messages. To send people to a thank-you page instead, add Redirect to Actions After Submit and enter the page address.
See past submissions
If Collect Submissions is turned on, every message is also saved in WordPress. Go to Elementor → Submissions to read them, which is handy if an email ever goes astray.
Not receiving form emails?
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Check the To address for typos.
- Look in Elementor → Submissions to confirm the form is working.
- Still stuck? Open a ticket and we'll check your site's email sending.
